Las Vegas is the place to be on New Year’s Eve. Here’s a collection of things to do while you ring in the New Year, and Decade!
Walk The Strip
The entire Las Vegas Strip is shut down to traffic, from the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign all the way to the Stratosphere. It feels like one giant 300,000 person block party, with celebrities included. And while traffic might be shut down, the Monorail will still be running for your faster service needs. At midnight, all of the casinos on the Strip coordinate a gigantic and fantastic fireworks show. Don’t forget to pack extra layers, Las Vegas winters can get cold.
America’s Party Downtown
Ring in the New Year at the Fremont Street Experience’s New Year’s Eve party. Dubbed “America’s Party Downtown” the experience is the city of Las Vegas’ official New Year’s Eve party. There will even be an appearance by the mayor. At midnight, there will be a spectacular pyrotechnics display, and all night long there will be 3 stages featuring 12 bands, including one stage dedicated to EDM. Most exciting of all will be the unveiling of the new upgrades to the Viva Vision Canopy, the largest video screen in the world. The 32 million dollar upgrades will make the screen even sharper and brighter, just in time to watch the Time’s Square ball drop live!
Party at the Stratosphere
Party 800 feet above the Strip at the Stratosphere, which has plenty of options for your Las Vegas New Year’s Eve experience. Choose from the Top of the World Restaurant, the 107 Skylounge Celebration, or the 108 Party in the Sky. At the Top of the World restaurant, you’ll enjoy a gourmet meal along with a 360-degree view before or during the fireworks, for a singular New Year’s Eve experience. At the 107 Skylounge, you’ll have access to a 2 hour open bar until midnight, selected food items from Top of the World, and DJ entertainment for $199. At the 108 Party in the Sky, you’ll be on the Skypod Observation deck, with access to a 3 hour premium open bar, gourmet food, DJ entertainment, go-go dancers and models, and a world-class New Year’s champagne toast, for $265. No matter which option you choose, you’ll be celebrating the new year in style at the Stratosphere.
Catch a Concert
There will be plenty of concerts to attend on New Year’s Eve if you are a music lover. If you are interested in classic rock, then be sure to check out Journey’s Las Vegas Residency at the Colosseum. For rock fans who want something a little more contemporary, Third Eye Blind will be playing at House of Blues as part of their first tour in 4 years. Pop fans will be delighted to take in Maroon 5 will be at the Mandalay Bay Events Center or Christina Aguilera at the Zappos Theatre. For something a little different, check out Lady Gaga’s Jazz and Piano show at the Park MGM. And for those who just want to party like it’s 2019, Lizzo will be performing at the Cosmopolitan.
Go to the NightClub
What’s New Year’s Eve without a party? Las Vegas is home to plenty of world-class nightclubs that will be having premiere NYE parties. At the Paris, Chateau and Beer Park will join forces to host one giant rooftop bash. The party includes a 3 hour premium open bar, open access to Chateau and Beer Park, and a spectacular Strip-side view of the fireworks display. At the Cromwell, Drai’s will be finishing out its 5 day New Year’s bash. Future will be performing on the 31st, and admission includes two complimentary glasses of champagne. The celebration at the Wynn’s XS Nightclub is also not to be missed, and will feature Diplo and the Chainsmokers.
